Happy New Year! During the holidays our team has installed the Nordic's two first ABB IRB 5510 paint robots and application equipment at Volvo Penta in Vara. The new system means improved quality as well as paint savings and as a result positive environmental effects.
In addition to robots and application equipment, RobNor AB has supplied equipment for VR robot programming. Volvo Penta's Bertil Andersson has made new production programs using RobotStudio and Virtual Reality.
- The new painting programs are created offline and from day 1 they run without manual touch up and with better quality than with the old robots. says Joakim Heimer, RobNor's project manager. He continues: When you combine Bertil's experience from engine painting together with new programming technology from RobNor, you get a fantastic result.
